Spatial RDP includes a server application running on an Apple
computer and a Vision Pro client application. For normal operation,
the Spatial RDP server and the Vision Pro client app must run under
the same local area network (LAN).
LAN and Network Requirements
The server and Vision Pro client discover and communicate with each
other inside the LAN. To ensure proper discovery and connection,
please make sure your network allows the required local network
traffic.
Do not disable mDNS on the LAN.
Do not block or disable required UDP traffic
inside the LAN.
Do not enable firewall, router, security, or network rules that
block QUIC data traffic between the server and the Vision Pro
client.
Make sure the server and Vision Pro device are connected to the
same LAN or the same properly bridged local network.
Important: If mDNS, UDP, or QUIC traffic is
blocked, the Vision Pro client may fail to discover the server, may
fail to connect, or may experience poor streaming performance.
Before Connecting from Vision Pro
Before the Vision Pro client connects to the Spatial RDP server, the
user should configure the server access settings.
Configure the Access Password before allowing
client connections.
If you do not want to use the default server port, you may
change it to your preferred port.
If you do not want to use the default machine remote access
name, you may change it to your preferred name.
Make sure the selected port is available and is not already used
by another application or service.
Make sure the machine remote access name does not conflict with
another running Spatial RDP server on the same LAN.
A unique machine remote access name helps the Vision Pro client
identify the correct server when multiple Spatial RDP servers are
running on the same network.
Network Bandwidth Test
The Vision Pro client app includes a tool to test network bandwidth
between the Spatial RDP server and the Vision Pro client. It is
recommended that you run this test before starting a remote session,
especially when using a new router, mesh network, Wi-Fi environment,
or server location.
For the best experience, make sure there is enough available network
bandwidth between the server and the Vision Pro client. Insufficient
bandwidth may cause increased latency, reduced image quality,
stuttering, or connection instability.
Hardware Requirements
An Apple computer with an Apple silicon M-series processor.
16 GB RAM minimum.
Suggested Wi-Fi: 5 GHz Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi 6E, or Wi-Fi 7.
A mesh Wi-Fi network is recommended for improved coverage and
stability when needed.
Recommended Network Setup
Use a high-quality router or mesh Wi-Fi system.
Keep the Apple computer and Vision Pro device close to the
router or mesh access point when possible.
Avoid congested Wi-Fi channels and weak signal areas.
For best stability, connect the server Mac to Ethernet when
available.
